Una década de detección masiva en el hospital "Enrique C. Sotomayor" del diagnóstico y tratamiento de neoplasia cervical temprana entre 60.090 papanicolau

Los principios de una buena terapéutica anticancerosa deben incluir disminución del número de complicaciones del tratamiento, así como aumento del porcentaje de pacientes curadas.
Los progresos en el tratamiento de la neoplasia cervical preinvasora han permitido disminuir la frecuencia de enfermedad invasora en etapa temprana, y reducir la frecuencia de mortalidad global por cáncer cervical.
Un diagnóstico oportuno de los casos de enfermedad invasora temprana en que puede evitarse tratamiento radical, eliminará complicaciones y riesgos no necesarios.
El objetivo de la terapéutica de la neoplasia cervical temprana radica en curar sin interferir con una vida activa y plena después del tratamiento.
Principios vitales de una terapéutica constituyen correcta la valoración clínica e histológica cuidadosa antes del tratamiento, la institución de una terapéutica " a la medida" para la lesión y para la enferma una vigilancia individual prolongada y agresiva.
