Abstract

This work had as principal aim identify the species of present fish in the hydrographic basins ofthe province of Bolivar. This province was chosen for not having been previous studies in this region ofthe country. ldentify the collected species, in addition, his diversity was estimated and the abundance was calculated and wealth specifies. Five field trips were realized, and it was collected on 18 stations of sampling along the province. The fish were captured with electrofishing and then fixed on formaldehyde to 10 %. ldentify those using keys taxonómicas.For his definitive preservation, them go on to flasks with alcohol etílico. With the information of number of species and number of individuals, for species, the diversity was estimated, according to the lndex of Shannon. There were identified a total of 30 species in the basins ofthe province ofBolivar: 28 native ones; and 2 introduced ones. All of them distributed in 5 orders, 13 families and 23 kinds. One recommends realizing new studies on physical and chemical parameters of the waters ofthe rivers of the province ofBolivar; especially, ofthat they are near population accessions.
