Abstract

The project was conducted in order to evaluate three traditional rice varieties based on different levels of nitrogen, and select the one (s) that your (s) answer(s) o be low doses of nitrogen (N) and positive performance other agronomic traits. The recommendation for nitrogen-deficient soils of the tropics of Ecuador is 120 kg N / ha for varieties. Trials were established in the South Littoral "Dr. Enrique Ampuero Pareja" Experimental Station al the National lnstitute of Agricultural Research and Santa Lucía, Guayas Province. The variables evaluated were: yield, flowering, growth cycle, plan! height, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, lodging, number of panicles per m2, thousand kernel weight, grain length, percentage of fertility, white center, disease resistance, performance on the mili. They use the split plot design with three replications and the Tukey test. The findings were as follows: The highest yields were obtained with the CHATO ARISTADO, SACACLAVO and INIAP 14. In nitrogen levels and interaction varieties by nitrogen levels were no difference in yield. The earliest varieties were INIAP 14 and CACAO. CACAO, SACACLAVO and CHATO ARISTADO recorded higher averages in grain by panicle.
