Evaluation of rice (0ryza sativa l.) In the Guayas river basin

Abstract

This research was aimed to evaluate the performance of 12 rice lines, develo­ped by the Faculty of Science for the Development, and two standard cultivars INIAP 14 and NIAP16) in eight environments of the Guayas River Basin in order to choose the best one and its establishment as a new cultivar. lt was deter­mined that the Ar ITAV 06, Ar ITAV 10 and Ar CC ­ 03 lines were the best dueto their yields, agronomic performance and pest resistance, and that any ofthem can be raised as a new cultivar.
