Abstract

In this research the separation of pollutants from organic and inorganic wastewater is carried out by means of advanced treatments, clean and efficient techniques for removing compound as pigments and synthetic dyes used in the textile industry, which generate in their processes large volumes of wastewater, with compounds that affect the environment, these are characterized concentrations of parameters such as chemícal oxygen demand, color and salinity. Toe objective of this research is to reduce the by hígh coloring of a synthetic effluent textile industry by electrocoagulation. Experimentation begins with the preparation of synthetic sample and characterization, testing batches performed with 3 liters of sample, various configurations of cells with current of 5, 10 and 15 amperes at determined time at pH of 10, using iron electrodes. Toe best results were obtained with 4-cell configuration and 2 packets to 10 amps and 15 volts, with a residence time of 3 minutes. Conclusion was obtained a removal of 90% of chemical oxygen demand and 97% color.
