Diseño urbano: perspectivas desde el ciclismo para el devenir de la ciudad de Guayaquil.

Introducción: Basándose en una revisión de referencias y experiencias en el plano nacional como internacional, este artículo coteja las particularidades de los ciclistas con aquellas de los peatones y los conductores en general de la ciudad de Guayaquil. Metodología: Se utiliza cuadros comparativos entre varios medios de transporte, donde se hace hincapié en que los ciclistas gozan de un número sustancial de características privilegiadas que justifican una mayor exploración en términos de una respuesta de proyecto urbano adecuado. Resultados: Focalizándose en cuatro ideas: organización de la comunidad, montajes estratégicos para bicicletas, procesos de diseño y proyectos estructurados; el documento ofrece un marco y consideraciones esenciales para el diseño urbano orientado al ciclismo en la ciudad de Guayaquil. Conclusiones: Concluye con un llamado a considerar seriamente la experiencia del ciclismo en próximos proyectos urbanos sostenibles. Esto supone ir más allá de la preocupación por las instalaciones seguras, así como redes completas a un interés más sustancial en la experiencia del medio ambiente desde la óptica de un ciclista.
