Abstract

The inequality of which women have been victims stems from the patriarchal structure of society, which means that, from their insertion in the labor market, women are subordinated to jobs considered to be of low productivity where the tasks of the home, which are mostly sectors where job insecurity and informality prevail. Given that the Covid 19 pandemic accentuated the problems that affect women in the labor market, through an econometric analysis based on the Logit model, that is, binary response, the calculation of the probability that a woman has a adequate employment given certain socioeconomic characteristics such as gender, ethnic identification, branch by productivity, educational level and occupation category during the period before and after the pandemic, resulting in a reduction in the probability that a woman will have adequate employment as a result of the pandemic. However, if the profile of the women who were affected to a greater extent by Covid-19 is observed, it is evident that the pandemic affected women in a situation of vulnerability to a greater extent, which not only led to a setback in the struggles feminists, but also accentuated the poverty and precariousness in which this group of women live.
