The inequalities between men and women that are observed in the labor market have their origin in the sexual division of labor, this assigns roles and stereotypes that, in turn, construct and reproduce the unequal conditions in which they access employment, being a phenomenon that affects the labor market globally. For this reason, the objective of this research is to analyze the gender incidence on inequalities in the labor market of the Guayaquil canton during the period 2010-2019. Regarding the methodology used, it corresponds to the quantitative approach since it has worked with the primary bases of the ENEMDU as of December of each year analyzed. Among the results obtained, a marked difference was found in the conditions in which men and women enter the labor market, in addition to examining the occupational concentration of gender in certain activities and a wage gap that harms women.
