• Open Access Policy: "RIAF" International Journal of Physical Activity is a journal that offers free and open access to all its content. It is based on the principle that this form of access contributes to the socialization of scientific knowledge, fostering the global exchange of knowledge. Authors of scientific articles can submit their work completely free of charge, and it will be subject to the peer review, editing, and publication process under this same principle.

  Adoption of Open Science Guidelines: Open Science advocates for the openness of all components that underpin research communication, such as methods, data, and computer programs. This openness aims to accelerate the publication of research, facilitate manuscript evaluation, promote the replicability of research, and encourage the reuse of collected data. In this regard, the implementation of the following advancements is required:

  Acceleration of research publication through continuous publication;

  Accelerating the publication of research through preprints, understood as manuscripts ready for submission to journals and available in open access on the web in preprint repositories before formal submission to a journal. Journals should specify the preprint acceptance criteria in their instructions to authors;
  Identifying and recommending data repositories by subject area to guide data deposit: The adoption of the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) is recommended for the evaluation of data repositories;
  Adopting the TOP guidelines (Transparency and Openness Promotion) for the evaluation of articles and journals with regard to the citation and referencing of data, methods, software, etc.

  Availability of research data: Making research data used in articles available in open access repositories, following registration patterns that ensure authorship, use, and citation of the data, as well as the corresponding article, is recommended because it contributes to the replicability of research, increases the visibility and citations of research and journals.
