The journal Ingeniería Química y Desarrollo uses two platforms for plagiarism detection: TURNITIN and PLAGIARISM CHECKER.

TURNITIN: It is a software where the document submitted to the journal is compared with a massive database whose content includes web pages, student and academic papers in order to detect any similarity, the similarities found will be reflected in a Similarity Report where it will be observed what and how much is what exactly is matching the document submitted with the database (this similarity is expressed as a percentage).

PLAGIARISM CHECKER: It is a software where the document submitted to the journal is analyzed on the basis of lexical frequencies, choice of words and phrases matched by the same, it is also compared in different databases and internet, in turn for greater precision commonly used statistical terms and phrases are excluded. At the end of the analysis, the result is obtained where the percentage of verified, unique and plagiarism can be observed together with phrases or sentences with the original sources from where the content was extracted in case of plagiarism.
