Guidelines for Authors

Introduction

STRATEGOS International Journal of Studies in Administrative Sciences is an open-access academic publication, edited by the University of Guayaquil, that disseminates original research in the areas of administration, leadership, business economics, accounting, finance, and entrepreneurship. Its objective is to contribute to the circulation of scientific knowledge generated in the field of administrative sciences from a critical and applied perspective.

Submitting articles to the journal implies acceptance of its editorial, ethical, and evaluation policies. STRATEGOS does not charge fees for submission or publication of articles and adheres to the principles of open access and scientific dissemination without economic restrictions for readers or authors.

Types of Articles Accepted

The journal exclusively accepts:

Original research articles: unpublished results of empirical, experimental, or theoretical studies that address clearly formulated problems and employ rigorous methodology.

The following are not accepted:

Review articles without critical analysis,
Exploratory or purely descriptive essays,
Case studies without analytical context.

Submission Requirements

Manuscripts must be submitted through the OJS editorial management system in editable format (.doc or .docx) and meet the following requirements (See instructions in the Template):

Language: Spanish or English.

Length: 5,000 to 8,000 words (excluding references).

Format: Letter size, 1.5 line spacing, Times New Roman 12 pt font, 2.5 cm margins.

Abstract: 250 words, in the original language and in English.
Keywords: Four keywords, in both languages. Use the UNESCO Thesaurus.
Citation style: APA, latest edition.

Editorial Process and Evaluation

All manuscripts undergo the following stages:

Initial Editorial Review: Compliance with the manuscript's formal and thematic guidelines is verified.
Peer Review: Double-blind review by evaluators external to the publishing institution.
Decision: Acceptance, rejection, or request for revisions.
Revisions and Final Version: Responsible for the author.
Formal Editing and Layout.

The estimated time for the entire process is 6 to 10 weeks.

Commitment to Originality

Submitting an article to STRATEGOS implies that the text:

Is original and unpublished.
Is unpublished and is not under review by another journal.
Has the consent of all authors involved.
Has ethical support and, if applicable, institutional approval for research involving human subjects.

The editorial committee uses similarity detection tools to check for potential cases of plagiarism.

Copyright and Open Access

STRATEGOS adheres to the principles of open access. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which allows sharing and adapting the content provided it is properly cited and not used for commercial purposes.

Authors retain the copyright to their work.

Ethical Policies

The journal adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to act responsibly, transparently, and with respect for the ethical standards of academic research.

Practices such as the following will not be tolerated:

Plagiarism,
Data manipulation,
Redundant self-publication,
Undeclared conflicts of interest.

Digital Preservation

The journal's contents are preserved through internal digital backup systems and external preservation policies via platforms such as LOCKSS/PKP PN, ensuring long-term access.

Publication Frequency

STRATEGOS is an open-access academic journal published biannually.

Two issues are published annually, in June and December, maintaining a regular frequency that ensures editorial continuity and the ongoing updating of scientific knowledge in the field of administrative sciences.

Digital Preservation Policy

STRATEGOS guarantees the long-term digital preservation of its content through the following strategies:

Storage on institutional servers at the University of Guayaquil with automatic backups and version control.

Participation in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which allows archiving in multiple internationally distributed repositories.

Use of the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) protocol as a decentralized backup system to ensure continuous access to content.

All articles are stored in open formats (PDF/A) and with metadata compatible with international standards (Dub).
