Policies
- Focus and scope: The "RIAF" Journal. International Journal of Physical Activity is an open-access, peer-reviewed, scientific, bilingual, and specialized journal that publishes original and unpublished research results. It has a thematic scope that covers the Sciences of Physical Activity in General, School Physical Education and at different ages, Sports Training as an Integrating Phenomenon of Processes, Sport for all, Recreation, Biomedical bases of physical activity and sports, Therapeutic and rehabilitative physical activity, Management of physical activity, Sciences applied to physical activity, Physical Activity FITNES, Physical Activity for Health. Its target audience is made up of teachers of all educational levels, undergraduate and graduate students, athletes, coaches, sports doctors, sports psychologists, managers, physical instructors, physiatrists, sports nutritionists and health personnel linked to physical activity and sports.
- Open Access Policy: "RIAF" International Journal of Physical Activity is a journal that offers open access and free of charge to all its content. It is based on the principle that this form of access contributes to the socialization of scientific knowledge, favoring the global exchange of knowledge. Authors of scientific articles can, completely free of charge, send their works, which will be submitted to the process of refereeing, editing and publication under this same principle.
Copyright Notice
In accordance with the open access policy, the journal "RIAF" adheres to the criterion that the published contents may only be used in the preparation of other texts by third parties when the aforementioned explicit recognition of the original authors is made, there is no profit interest and the new text is published under the same license.
On the other hand, submissions require the assignment of copyright through the letter of assignment of rights in the following terms:
- a) The author's commitment not to submit it to the consideration of other publications.
- b) Assignment of rights in the name of the journal.
- c) Non-exclusive assignment of rights.
This assignment of rights implies the author's authorization to place them on other sites or databases for their use; the translation of the text in whole or in part into other languages for the same purposes of dissemination; the creation of adaptations or syntheses of the content of the original article or the inclusion of versions in the original language or translated, including under another title, in repositories and other databases.
By means of the letter of originality, the authors make a formal declaration of the original and unpublished nature of their text, and of its exclusive submission to this journal; they assume full responsibility for the ideas and criteria presented; accept that the submission will be subject to peer review and amendments; and express their agreement on the deadlines established in the "peer review" session.
The authors retain the copyright on the works, and assign them to RIAF. International Journal of Physical Activity the right of the first publication of the work, under international license Creative Commons Atribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 4.0 which allows third parties to share the work as long as its author and its first publication are indicated.

Interoperability Policy
All publications of the Portal of Scientific Journals of the University of Guayaquil incorporate OAI-PMH interoperability protocols (Open Archive Initiative-Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) that allow their content to be collected by other distribution systems, such as digital repositories and harvesters (harvesters), and in this way obtain different formats for the metadata.

Changes in authorship
It refers to the addition, removal or re-arrangement of the order of the authors. Before the article is published, the corresponding author may request the Editor to add, remove or modify the order of the authors. You must state the reason for making the modification and send a written communication signed by all authors certifying that they all agree with the modification. In case of addition or removal, the written communication must include confirmation by the author(s). Once the article has been published, addition, removal or modification in the order of the authors is not accepted.

Item processing and shipping costs
"RIAF". International Journal of Physical Activity does not charge any fee for the application, evaluation and publication of the articles submitted. The publication does not generate any cost for authors and readers, since the University of Guayaquil assumes the expenses related to editing, management and publication. Peer evaluators do not receive any financial compensation for their valuable contribution.
- Privacy or Archiving Statement: The contents of the Journal "RIAF" International Journal of Physical Activity, They are archived by international databases and repositories. It is registered as a data provider in the Open Access Initiative, which allows the digital information it handles to be preserved. However, authors may archive their works in institutional or personal repositories.
- Peer review process: The journal “RIAF”.International Journal of Physical Activity uses the double-blind method of review by specialists and for this it uses external referees. Manuscripts with a negative opinion will be sent to a third reviewer whose decision will be final. This process can take up to 6 months, so authors are notified that once the time limit has elapsed, without having reached a conclusion, they may withdraw it, after notifying the editors and send it to another journal.
- For the evaluation of the texts, the following are taken into account:
- The correspondence of the materials with the thematic profile of the journal.
- Methodological quality and content of the work.
- Novelty of the topic and quality of the presentation.
- Topicality and scientific relevance of bibliographic references, complying with the APA Seventh Edition standard.
- Anti-plagiarism policy: The journal “RIAF” International Journal of Physical Activity has anti-plagiarism software TURNITIN and URKUND. In the preliminary evaluation of the manuscripts received, it is verified that the rate of duplication of their contents does not exceed 10%. Otherwise, the authors are returned with the resulting report, so that they can respond to the allegations. However, if a referee finds that a manuscript includes plagiarized content or falsification of research data or knows that it has been published, he or she must immediately notify the Editor of the journal to take appropriate action.

Section Policies
ORIGINAL ARTICLE
It is a report that communicates the results of research for the first time, it is submitted to peer review.
REVIEW ARTICLE
It is an article that examines the findings related to one of the topics of the journal's profile, it is submitted to peer review.
LETTER TO THE EDITOR
It generally refers to topics addressed in articles published in the journal. The editors reserve the right to edit the letters with respect to their length and style.
