Abstract

Transfer Station Tres Bocas, is implanted in mangrove area, its takeover of fuels by seaway and pumping up to the power plants and terminals Petrocomercial has generated environmental incidents such as spills of fuel oil, diesel, gasoline, as well as LPG leak polluting the atmosphere with fumes of propane and butane, risking fire and explosion of that sector. Therefore, the project's objective was to determine the degree of contamination in the surrounding natural resources to the Station, and on this basis, develop a remediation plan for this unit operational reserve to preserve the tropical rain forest, mangrove and the waters of the Estero Salado. The quality of water that surrounds the Tres Bocas station has low dissolved oxygen concentration, high concentration of oils and fats, a high concentration of chemical oxygen demand and the presence of cadmium in one of the sampling stations of sea water, that exceeds the maximum allowable limit for the conservation of flora and fauna. There is also a latent contamination at several points that require action on mitigation and remediation of contaminated person.
