PROSPECTIVE STUDY OF THE EFFECT OF THE PACIFIC ALLIANCE ON THE COMPETITIVENESS OF EXPORTS IN THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR OF ECUADOR

Abstract

The present research work aims to determine the possible incidence of commercial benefits by the Pacific Alliance in the competitiveness of exports of the agricultural sector of Ecuador, for the development of strategies that strengthen the agricultural sector. Data on agricultural exports and imports from Ecuador and the member countries of the Pacific Alliance were used to determine the revealed comparative advantage index of the Ecuadorian agricultural sector and the export potential of agricultural products. A table of possible results was prepared, analyzing one by one the commercial benefits granted by the PA, it was possible to estimate a growth in FDI based on the results obtained from the member countries, agricultural exports will increase above 113 billion US if the potential without exporting is covered.
