This issue compiles contributions focused on society aspects and sustainable processes management. Fajardo-Pruna et al. (2023) propose a behavioural Cyber-Physical Model of a Cutting Machine, integrating the Internet of Things to monitor and control Manufacturing Processes in the Industry from a Holistic Perspective. Enríquez, F. et al. (2023) discuss the Influence of the Architectural Design Pattern on Computer Systems' Security, Interoperability, and Usability. The aspects on which this analysis is based are essential to boost digital transformation in industry and society, and simple evidence are the modular systems on which some applications that respond to business intelligence theory and educational applications are based. Suquisupa, A. et al. (2023) analyze the Strategies Implemented for Waste Management in industrial Plants, from the Collaborative Management Perspective, and the Circular Business Model. Subsequently, Andrade, G. et al. (2023) characterize Milk Production in Indigenous Populations of Ecuador, considering distribution channels as an economic factor, and vulnerability as a main social factor.   

This issue also comprises contributions from a social perspective. First, Santana, C. et al. (2023) conduct a Deductive Statistical Analysis to determine the Factors promoting Traffic Accidents in Urban Cities, they also discuss possible solutions to mitigate car accidents. Pule, V. et al. (2023) determine Aspects that lead to Tobacco Use in Student Communities, and the Perception of Health risks of Smoking. Finally, Mejía, C. et al. (2023) describe the Factors affecting Women's Engineering Career Choices. The analysis includes the perception of the gender stereotype as one of the main factors leading to the decision.
