Abstract

The university teacher is a citizen who participates in the society of the 21st century, like any other professional, their difference lies in the fact that they form the generation of digital natives who are currently at all educational levels, hence the importance of knowing their level of digital competence. It is paramount for these rapidly advancing societies that teachers at this level develop the skills and knowledge to master digital technologies and services. The relevance of training in digital teacher competence is a priority educational need, not out of whim, but because it is imperative to have a quality teacher, trained to train students with adequate didactics that require skills to meet the needs of a society. Ecuador, to be at the forefront of the accelerated advance of ICTs, has defined among its public policies the Digital Educational Agenda 2017- 2021 and together with it the Ecuador Digital Strategy 2.0, to carry it out, it entrusts public and private universities to guide this process. educational based on the needs, interests and expectations of the student and the Ecuadorian society.
