Estudio bibliométrico de la producción científica Ecuatoriana sobre el sars cov 2 en Web of Science

El virus del sars cov 2 fue detectado el 31 de diciembre de 2019 por la Organización Mundial de la
Salud (OMS, 2019), este fue el primer y único brote de neumonía en la ciudad de Wuhan, China.
A finales de enero 2020, este brote epidémico se transformó en pandemia y, por lo tanto, en una
emergencia de salud pública de interés internacional. El objetivo fundamental fue investigar la
red colaborativa de producción científica en el caso covid–19, con el fin de identificar, mapear, y
explorar las interconexiones entre publicaciones, autores más relevantes, países de procedencia,
filiación institucional y palabras claves. Metodológicamente el estudio posee como diseño de
investigación un análisis bibliométrico exploratorio y descriptivo con enfoque cuantitativo,
el periodo de recopilación de la información se llevó a cabo en marzo del 2022, teniendo en
consideración la información disponible en Web of Science de los años 2020–2021. Finalmente,
los investigadores ecuatorianos también se posicionaron con sus contribuciones académicas sobre
covid–19 aproximadamente en 150 publicaciones de alto impacto y de acceso abierto en el mundo
